Help & Tips for Beginners

So often I get asked by beginner players - "what kind of guitar should I start off with?"

Everyone seems to think that beginners should always start with an acoustic guitar;  And then somehow they "graduate" into being able to play an electric.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Get an electric guitar right from the start! Electric guitars are much easier to play than acoustic guitars.  The string gauge is lighter, making the strings easier to press down onto the frets. So the end result is that everything from single notes to full barre chords is much easier.  When something is easy, it tends to be more fun.  And fun it what it's all about!  Learning an instrument can be difficult and downright frustrating at times.  So why not do everything possible to make the journey a little less stressful.  Do yourself a favor - start on an electric guitar, you'll be glad you did!!!

Many of the bigger instrument manufacturers such as Gibson, Epiphone, Fender and Yamaha, offer package deals that include:  The electric guitar, the amp, instrument cables, strings, a strap, picks, a tuner, and just about anything you need to get started.  All this for just a few hundred dollars.  It's a great deal for the money.
